A Prayer Based on Ephesians: 1:3-14

Thank you, Father, for every spiritual gift you have so graciously given me. It is only through your grace that I have become your child, chosen before the foundations of the world to worship you. You have created me for worship and the praise of your glorious grace. Direct my gifts and talents to the purpose of your worship. Strengthen me to hold to the truth of my salvation through your Son, Jesus Christ, and to worship Him in spirit and truth.

Jesus, I thank you for taking my sins away and making me clean and worthy to worship you. Thank you for making me ready and granting the privilege of uniting all things on heaven and earth to you through your gracious reconciliation. Your gifts, your talents, my actions, and life should all rebound to you in praise for your glory and the mighty salvation you brought about through the cross. You have granted me wisdom and insight into your creation, your will, and the depths of my depravity and sin, all so that I could love and worship you and help make this known to others who have not heard! What an incredible privilege; what an extraordinary calling you have given me.

Thank you, Holy Spirit, for what you have done protecting this precious gift, securing it as I never could, and giving me the power to carry out the will of the Father to the praise of Jesus. Help me to rely on your strength and protection in all things. Thank you for manifesting your power in my life in a way that blesses others and points them to Christ. Help me live a life of praise that causes others to realize the awesome wonder of salvation in Jesus Christ. Help me to do the work of reconciliation that God has given, that Jesus made effective, and that you empower. Help me always to know and always to live knowing that it is your power that I work in, it is the glory of Jesus that I live for, and it is the will of the Father that I do in my life.

I ask that you: create the desire in me to see the worship of Jesus Christ go where it is not. Make me part of helping the nations know the praise of the glorious grace of salvation through Jesus Christ. Let me not be apathetic about the darkness in the world but fill me with zeal for the reconciliation of all people and things to Jesus Christ. Let me rest in the power and strength of Jesus Christ. Lead me to action in the world where there are people yet to hear of the glorious power and grace of Jesus Christ. All this I pray in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
