A Prayer Based on Ephesians 2:1-5

Jesus, thank you for your wonderful salvation. I was dead in my sins, in service of the spirit of the air, and a child of disobedience. My life before your salvation was in service to the flesh and the Enemy of life. It is only through your love and your marvelous grace that I have been saved. Only through your power can I love you, follow you, and resist the draw of the flesh and the schemes of the Enemy. Let me never forget how dependent I am on your grace, power, and love for all that I am and do. The only defense I have from the passions of my flesh is your grace and love. I ask you to give me the strength to remember this and lean on your love and trust in your grace.

Father, I know that our missionaries were once children of disobedience like I was. I know, too, that our missionaries struggle against the flesh and can forget about your love and grace and how it has saved them. I know our missionaries deal with incredible pressure on the field. They have fewer Christian peers, fewer co-workers of grace, and at times they stand on the battle line alone with no other Christians on their right or left. Father, you have placed me on that line with them through prayer. I pray for their peace, I pray for their knowledge of your love, and I pray they remember the wonder of your grace. Whatever trials and pressure they feel right now, even at this moment, surround them with your love, help them remember your saving grace, and give them the strength to carry on. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
