“I have but one candle of light to burn, and I would rather burn it out in a land filled with darkness than a land flooded with light.” – Keith Falconer
Out of the world’s population of 7.83 billion, an estimated 3.29 billion live among unreached people groups. That’s 42% of the world’s population with little to no access to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 3.29 billion people who may live and die without hearing the message of eternal life unless someone is sent to preach the good news.
Brothers and sisters, may I remind you of the Great Commission where Jesus said in Matthew 28:19 to go “and make disciples of all nations.” Nations, here, is not referring to geopolitical entities as we think of them today. Rather, nations (ethnos) refers to all ethnic or people groups. According to recent statistics, there is 1 unreached people group for every 1,000 congregation of believers.
Church, we have a mission to do. Will your church be the spark that shares the Light of the World in a land filled with darkness? Are you willing to risk it all for the sake of the Gospel and the glory of Jesus Christ among those who do not yet know Him?
